Lower monthly water bills through Philly's "TAP" program.
"TAP" stands for "Tiered Assistance Program" and it's the newest of several programs offered by the City of Philadelphia to help homeowners cut down on their water bills.  The program is only available for landlords right now, but may be available to tenants in the future.  (Source:  HAPCO January 2018 Newsletter).  If you want more information on this program, call us at 215-677-2100.

Water Heater Hints...
A related story in this month's HAPCO newsletter addresses the question of replacing your water heater.   Since water heaters typically last about 10 years, you might want to consider purchasing a new "Energy Star" water heater when it's time to replace. You may be eligible for rebates and you'll definitely save on future energy bills.  HAPCO says "Water heaters are the second highest energy user in the average housing unit..." and they suggest installing a heat pump water heater when it's time to replace the old unit.  For more information on the Energy Star certified heat pump water heater, visit www.energystar.gov/waterheaters.
